BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) †Baton Rouge’s Metro Council has unanimously agreed to pay a $1 million settlement to a man who served more than 16 years in prison for a rape he didn’t commit.
(Baton Rouge) -- The Baton Rouge Metro Council gave unanimous approval Wednesday to pay a wrongly convicted man one-million dollars to settle a federal lawsuit he brought against the city and others.
The state will spend about 3 million lei yearly to implement the stipulations of the law on the protection of witnesses and other participants in criminal cases. BALTIMORE (AP) †A Maryland man pleaded guilty Friday in federal court to duping a Georgia computer services company into spending $32 million on nonexistent computer servers and software before leasing them back to him.
Lima police have arrested a 5th man in connection with the shooting death of Wendy Westergaard and they may not be done yet. 31 year old Garrett Turner of Lima is charged with one count of complicity to commit murder. He is the second person facing that charge in the case.
