LA GRANGE †A historical building originally slated for demolition has been saved from the wrecking ball. The La Grange town council initially voted 5-1 to demolish what’s called the “summer house,” an old building located in Fairview Cemetery.
Margie McDonald lives in Port Townsend, Wash., near Puget Sound. She rigged yachts there for nearly a decade, and in that time word of her unusual obsession spread. Now people visit her shop regularly, depositing unusual items in a box labeled “Art Parts.”
La Cañada resident Barbara Potter recalls taking the “big white boat” to Catalina Island when she was a child. It was a great family memory, she said, adding she enjoyed seeing the “flying fish” jumping out of the water.
